Swimming classes will be held at Bayswater Waves Aquatic Centre for all children (Pre-Primary to Year 6) in Weeks 9 & 10 of Term 1 from Monday 31 March to Friday 11 April 2025. Students will be advised of their session times in the coming weeks. Session times listed below:
Session 1 | Session 2 |
Depart Ashfield: 12:30pm | Depart Ashfield: 1:15pm |
Lesson commences: 12:50pm | Lesson commences: 1:35pm |
Depart Bayswater Waves: 1:50pm | Depart Bayswater Waves: 2:30pm (times will differ for early close) |
Swimming lessons are free, however, a charge applies to cover the cost of pool entry over the 2-week period. This year the P&C have kindly covered the cost of the bus for all students attending. This has lowered the cost for each child significantly. The cost for the 2-week program is $37 per student.
As this is a part of our Physical Education Program, all children are expected to attend. Learning how to swim and understanding pool safety is a necessity for all children. Students will need to come to school in their bathers. They will change back into their uniform after their lesson. Please make sure your child has the following items included in their own swimming bag:
- Towel
- Bathers
- Thongs/sandals to wear to and from the pool only. Please ensure your child also brings regular shoes to change into after their swimming lessons.
- Dry underwear
- Goggles (if required) as students may get sore eyes from the chlorine.
Please note: All items are to be clearly labelled with their name.
Please sign and complete the attached enrolment form including medical details. Payment is required in full by Friday 28 March 2025. If you are having difficulties paying these fees, please see our office staff regarding a payment plan. Bayswater Waves will not accept any child without receiving the consent form.
Any child that chooses to consistently misbehave during swimming lessons will remain at school for the remainder of the lessons. This is to support the safety standards that have been put into place. Students who are not participating in swimming lessons are still required to attend school every day.
